A landmark new report authored by LRRG Co-Chair, James Naish MP, sets out 27 practical recommendations to unlock rural economic potential and ensure rural communities can contribute fully to national prosperity.

Led by James Naish MP, the LRRG have launched a call for submission to inform our next report examining the future of the rural economy.

LRRG calls for an energy price cap for off-grid homes
The LRRG is urging the Government to introduce a price cap on heating oil and liquified petroleum gas (LPG) as costs continue to rise for off-grid homes following the war on Iran.

LRRG launches Rural Poverty Report
A landmark new report authored by LRRG Chair, Jenny Riddell-Carpenter MP, has warned that rural poverty is deeper and more widespread than official statistics suggest, with families across the countryside paying a structural “rural penalty” simply to reach a basic standard of living.

LRRG welcomes reforms to IHT for farms and rural businesses
The LRRG welcomed the government's changes to Agricultural Property Relief (APR), which confirmed that the threshold will rise from £1 million to £2.5 million per person, meaning up to £5 million for married couples or civil partners.
The change represents a major boost for family farms and rural businesses.
